Video production has a way of turning up the unexpected. When I was assigned to film the Office Agents’ Society summer ball in association with Generate UK and Porterfield PR, I have to admit that I was expecting it to be a little bit boring. Its safe to say that I was pretty wrong. I guess I just didn’t have commercial property agents pegged as the stars-and-stripes parachute pant wearing (well, it was on the 4th of July), impromptu “hammertime” dancing bunch that they really are! As well as being a pretty good rave, the event raised over £18,000 for Sparks, a very worthy charity funding life-saving research into conditions affecting babies, children and mums-to-be.
The venue for the event was the Café De Paris in the heart of London’s Piccadily; a very nice venue by all means, but darker than Batman’s jockstrap. For you techy people out there, I was filming most of the evening at around ISO 3200, 1/25th of a second, f/1.8. For you non-techy people, that’s more or less like climbing into your wardrobe and closing the door.
Anyway, I’m pretty pleased with the way that the video came out and I hope it captures the true nature of the night; a great knees-up with a great cause!
